Registered Massage Therapy

A good massage is much more than just a relaxing luxury. Massage can actually relieve stress and chronic pain while it boosts mood, immunity and job performance.  The skin is the body’s largest organ and every inch is dense with nerve receptors that send signals to the brain.  Touch can trigger health enhancing chemical changes.

Benefits include:

 1.    Easing pain.  Massage raises the levels of the body’s natural pain-killers called endorphins.  Massage also releases muscle spasm reducing the pressure on nerve endings that can cause pain and relaxes the tightness of muscles during activity.

2.    Relieving stress.  As massage relaxes tight muscles the body secretes lower levels of stress hormones.  By raising endorphin levels, massage can also stop the negative effects of stress before they start.

3.    Stimulating your own immune system.  By improving circulation of lymph fluid that carries immune cells through the body, and by lowering the levels of stress hormones, massage can help ward off colds and many other viruses.
